Job Summary:
The Workshop Assistant supports teachers in delivering practical lessons in the school workshop (e.g., science lab, art room, technology lab, or woodworking room). The role ensures students have a safe, well-organized, and resource-ready environment for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for workshop lessons.
• Assist teachers in demonstrating practical tasks and supervising students during activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
• Monitor students to ensure they are following safety rules and proper handling procedures.
• Keep track of inventory and notify teachers when supplies need replenishing.
• Assist with minor repairs or maintenance of equipment, or report issues to the relevant staff.
• Support teachers in setting up displays, projects, or student work.
• Help document student progress or workshop activities as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred.
• Experience with school workshops, practical lessons, or hands-on student support is desirable.
• Knowledge of workshop safety rules and basic tools/equipment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with children and teachers.
• Patience, reliability, and a proactive approach to assisting students and staff.

Working Conditions:

• Hands-on, practical environment with students.
• May involve lifting materials, setting up equipment, and standing for extended periods.
• Must adhere to school safety and child protection policies.
