About the Role

Toowoomba Grammar School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher – Diverse Learners (Junior School) to support students with varied learning needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student is supported to achieve their full academic, social, and emotional potential.

This role focuses on delivering differentiated instruction, implementing individual learning plans, and working closely with teaching staff, families, and support services to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and differentiated learning programs for diverse learners in the Junior School
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support
• Identify learning needs and provide targeted intervention strategies
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, learning support staff, and parents
• Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
• Support inclusive education practices across the Junior School
• Maintain accurate records of student learning and interventions
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

About You

• Qualified teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent
• Experience working with diverse learners or in special/inclusive education
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and learning support strategies
• Experience in developing and implementing IEPs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Passionate about supporting children with varied learning needs
• Patient, empathetic, and committed to student development

Desirable

• Experience in a Junior School setting
• Training or certification in Special Education or Inclusive Education
• Familiarity with Australian curriculum frameworks
